Bunselmeyer talks about Franco-Americans using the Androscoggin Swinging Bridge

(February 2012) Robert Bunselmeyer will speak at the regular meeting of The Topsham Historical Society on February 14 at 6:30 pm at the Topsham Public Library.
Robert Bunselmeyer will be speaking about the history of the Franco-Americans who moved to the area. The bridge was built to allow millworkers to cross the Androscoggin to work at the woolen mill located in what is now Fort Andross.
Nancy E. Randolph will also give a brief talk on the rehabilitation and historical and contemporary use of the bridge.
Bates Professor Robert Bunselmeyer teaches the history of modern Europe, especially Britain, and pursues local history as time allows. He lives in Brunswick..

Cloutier Landscaping adds junipers, mulch and stone
(Summer 2011) Cloutier Landscaping of Topsham helped move some junipers from a generous donor's yard to the park on the Topsham end of the Swinging Bridge. Glen and Gary Cloutier dug up the creeping shrubs and relocated them. Then they added stones and mulch to make it look beautiful.
